Regretting You by Colleen Hoover
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3.5 / 5 - Spoiler alert.

The plot was nice. Chris and Morgan are husband and wife. And Jenny (Morgan's sister) and Jonah (Chris's best friend) are engaged. Chris and Jenny were involved in a fatal car accident and it turns out they were having an affair! Also, Jenny's infant child who Jonah believed to be his son, may actually be Chris'.

Morgan goes through grief and anger towards her now deceased husband but she doesn't have the strength to tell her daughter and paint Clara's dad a bad picture.

This book is told in two perspectives Morgan's and Clara's. I was excited to see how the story unfolds but over time it just became repetitive. There's just this constant bickering between mother and daughter. The fact that Morgan grew up with a negligent mother, it doesn't make sense that she wanted to hide the truth from her child. I don't blame Clara for how she behaved. Jonah on the other hand also has his fair share of anger and grief but his perspective isn't shown enough. They both find love letters between Chris and Jenny but Morgan makes the primary decision to not read it. They didn't even get a paternity test for Jonah's baby.

In the end, they just chose to drop everything and moved on. This is their closure. But it's not mine 😅 If I were in their position, I would want to know everything. I wish they'd read the letter, I wish they'd gotten a DNA test. This book just left me hanging :(
