iPhone 16 Pro Raw Vlog Test
As someone who loves to vlog and document her life, the iPhone has always been my go-to camera to capture all those moments. It's handy (obviously), simple and straightforward. For the past couple of years, I constantly get asked what camera I use to vlog and 99% of the time, it's just the iPhone 11 Pro. But the time came to upgrade and so I recently switch to the iPhone 16 Pro.
The iPhone 16 Pro had a couple of features that I truly was excited to use and to give it a test run, I decided to use it to vlog our recent camping trip. It gave me the chance to use the action mode, audio enhancement features and more.
You can watch the video below to see raw footage was straight out of the camera. Now I'm not a hard core tech geek so don't expect to see some pro-res feature and what not - most of the reviews I watched went on and on about that. For my needs, I just want a decent camera that can capture life as wit happens. Something that properly focuses, good audio, crisp footage, and finally, a camera that ain't so fragile (osmo pocket lol).
Here's a few of my pros and cons from the iPhone 16 Pro which I also talked about in the video.
Pros:
1. Front camera focus: iPhone 16 Pro now has a background and foreground when you focus a subject on camera. And as someone who came from iPhone 11 Pro, we all know the focus on the front cam was bad. It just blurred the subject as you held it closer. This has now been eradicated in the iPhone 16 Pro
2. Better stabilizaton: The iPhone 11 Pro has decent stabilization but the action mode from the iPhone 16 Pro is so much more better.
3. Bigger screen: Pretty self explanatory. The bigger screen makes it more fun to shoot.
Cons:
1. The new camera button: Useless. I barely used it because it actually took longer for me to adjust some settings. Very counter productive. I just use it to quickly launch the camera app instead.
2. Audio enhancer: A feature I was so excited to use but it was so bad. Cannot properly pick up my voice even though the background noise was minimal. I also sounded unnatural. Just use a mic.
So, am I still gonna use the iPhone 16 Pro to vlog? Well of course. I vlog even the small moments in my life and this phone has always been so reliable. I can pick it up anytime and directly shoot without worrying about any setting.
Do you have the iPhone 16 Pro? What do you think about it?
