Book Review: Again, Rachel by Marian Keyes
So, about Again, Rachel. Well, she's a recovering alcoholic who's also now an addiction counsellor. Divorced but with a new lover. Just when she thought everything is falling into place, her ex-husband resurfaces and old wounds open up.
For Festival Plaza's book of the month (March 2022) we were given this book to read. It was later, much much later (during the discussion 😅) when I found out that this was a sequel to Rachel's holiday.
It all makes sense now. There were a lot of characters. So much so that at one point, my reading took two steps forward and one step back in order to keep up with the number of people in the story. Otherwise I'd be lost. A lot of references - I'm assuming from the first book - were also there. The good thing though was, Keyes was still able to write it in a way that I was able to get a gist of Rachel's "previous" life.
There's a lot of issues that were tackled in the book and it was just a bit overwhelming to me as soon as I reached the end. I mean after 2 weeks and 94 chapters, I never thought I'd finish. I don't know how I feel about this book yet, knowing that this is a sequel, but I do need a break from Rachel. Lol. I'll be reading a different book after this before I start with Rachel's holiday. Then I don't know, maybe I'll edit this review too.
So in case you want to read this book, please start with Rachel's Holiday first. Okay? Okay.
UPDATE: Oh my goodness. I just found out that this is the SEVENTH BOOK (currently the last) of the Walsh Family Series by Marian Keyes!!
