Book Review: The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
"It's so exhausting pretending to hate you."
Olive and Ethan hates each other. Unfortunately for them, they both get an all expense paid trip to Hawaii. The catch? They have to travel together and stay in the same hotel room. Now all they have to do is avoid each other for the rest of what's supposed to be their dream vacation. But then they meet people along the way and they both had no choice but to pretend they're married. At the end of the trip, it turns out, they were hating each other for all the wrong reasons.
Already down my first book of 2022 ✌🏼 It's been a while since I laughed from reading a book. Majority of the ones I read last year were on the serious note so it was nice to break the pattern and hop into a romcom novel. This was a light and easy read that'll make you laugh and give you butterflies. I absolutely adored Christina Lauren's writing here. This book kept me on my toes because of all the bantering, the awkward moments between Olive and Ethan and of course the romance that follows.
Like any other romcom novel, there's always a twist at the end which I actually didn't see coming. In addition, even though the book is centered between teo people falling in love, there's also a bit of self love and development in the story which I appreciate a lot!
