Book Review: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Book Review: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid_itsbeayt

I woke up at 6am this morning and spent the first hour and a half reading the book. I was already at the last few pages and I couldn't spend one more day away from it. What an incredible story.

I first saw The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo on Goodreads as I was searching for a new story to indulge in. It was included in the list of the most read books so I thought I'd give it a try. I didn't have any expectations towards it which was only fitting because this is also my first Taylor Jenkins Reid, book.

Now that I've finished it, I'm not disappointed at all. And that's totally an understatement. It was beautifully written. It gave us an insight of how Hollywood "works". The story was as diverse as it could get, covering topics from race to lgbtq+, married life and just how harsh the world can be sometimes.

Now the title itself gave an idea of how the book would be written. The moment I saw it, I'd assumed that there would be a chapter for every husband Evelyn had. I was correct. But let me tell you this, no portion of the book was boring. This was a page turner.

By the last few chapters, I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out at 6 in the morning. My heart ached for Evelyn so much, especially when I tried to put myself in her shoes.

Definitely recommend reading this book!
