Plant Apothecary Wash Your Face - Aloe and Lemongrass Review
Disclaimer: Gifted by Plant Apothecary but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
What is it?
An organic, vegan and cruelty free face wash that's suitable for all skin types. It's free from parabens, sulfates and synthetic ingredients; packaged in eco-friendly, fully recyclable PET plastic and fully biodegradable.Ingredients:
Sunflower seed oil, saponified coconut oil, saponified olive oil, saponified jojoba oil, lecithin, aloe vera, rosemary leaf oil, lemongrass oil, vitamin E.
My Experience:
I was so excited to use this because it's vegan, natural and cruelty free. I also love the fact that the packaging is recyclable. But my experience with it wasn't as pleasant as I expected.
❌ The herbal fragrance was too overpowering for me which smells almost like medicine. Didn't enjoy the experience.
🆗 It does feel gentle on the skin, however, it didn't lather up that much.
❌ It left an oily residue after washing my face which my oily skin didn't like. Even though it says that this is suitable for all skin types, it's not my cup of tea. I had to wash my face with another cleanser to get rid of the oily residue.
✅ After that experience, I gave this cleanser to a friend who had dry skin. Lo and behold, her experience was much more positive than mine. According to her, the cleanser left her skin soft and supple. She even enjoyed the herbal scent.

Final Verdict
Because this cleanser is formulated for all skin types, I guess it all boils down to preference. I personally didn't enjoy this cleanser but my friend's dry skin did. If you ask me, I really wouldn't recommend this to those who have oily skin and to those who are sensitive to fragrance and essential oils.
