FOREO VS. MINISO FACIAL CLEANSER - DUPE???

As the Foreo cleansing device took over the beauty market, fake versions of it started popping out of nowhere and a lot of brands have also copied the same concept of their device. Miniso, for example, released their very own version but question is, does it work the same as Foreo for a much cheaper price? Let's find out!

Foreo Luna Play Plus vs. Miniso Cleansing Device

Price point: Foreo is Dhs 250 and Miniso is Dhs 40 - 50 (I forgot so please correct me if I'm wrong)

I chose to compare these two because they both have the same characteristics in a sense that they only vibrate and they don't have the anti-ageing feature. They are also both battery operated and have the same type of bristles at the front. 

The back side of the Foreo is plain and smooth and that's where the on and off button is located. The back side of the Miniso is covered with larger bristles, while the on and off button is located at the front.

The Takeaway

You might think that with its similar design, they would work just the same. But no. Let's talk about the vibration first. I don't know how I'm going to describe this but, whatevaa... 

Foreo's vibration is firmer. Somehow, when it vibrates, I feel like it adds a little weight to the cleansing device itself and as a result, it feels as if you're massaging your skin. The bristles are longer compared to the Miniso one, and they are not to close to each other. That being said, you can really feel the bristled gently scrubbing and getting rid of all that gunk on your face.

While the Foreo feels like your face is getting a massage, the Miniso one feels like a Nokia 3310 vibrating on top of your face! LOL! I don't know how to describe it, I'm sorry 😭 It feels very different. Moreover, as you scrub the device on your skin, it doesn't feel like it's being cleansed at all. The bristles are shorter and closer to each other compared to Foreo, so it feels as if there's this huge textured thing sitting on top of your skin that's doing nothing.

Even my parents who haven't tried using a Foreo device, -thus with nothing to compare Miniso to- felt that the Miniso one doesn't cleanse their skin. They tried using it once and they were left completely disappointed.

The Final Verdict

In my opinion, even with a cheaper price point, it's still not worth spending your money on Miniso's cleansing device. Using your hands to cleanse your skin is still a better option in my opinion. Would I recommend the Foreo device? Yes. I've been using it for almost a year now and there's not a single day where I've stopped using it. If you're on a budget, the Luna Play Plus does a great job at cleansing your skin. Spending 250 dhs on a cleanser that you'll be able to use is more worth it than spending 50 dhs on something that's not going to work. You're literally throwing your 50 dhs down the drain when you could've saved the 50 to get a cleansing device that actually works!
