“I don’t think you’re trying to figure out if you love Sam more or Jesse more. I think you’re trying to figure out if you want to be the person you are with Jesse or you want to be the person you are with Sam.”

The first book I read from Taylor Jenkins Reid was the Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo. I absolutely loved that story which is why I decided to try some of her other books. One True Loves started off really interesting. Emma marries her highschool sweetheart Jesse, but unfortunately, he dies. 3 years later he was found to be alive but Emma has already moved on with another person, Sam. Now the question is, who will she choose?

The first half of the story was very enthralling to me. It tackled everything that it could about grief. How a person could possibly move on when they lose the love of their life, was detailed from a-z. It was heartbreaking yet moving at the same time because you could imagine how Emma slowly picked up her life. However, it all fell apart when the story revolved around which man Emma had to choose. Her husband or the new guy....because throughout the last few chapters of the book, you can already tell Emma would choose Sam. I feel like the author could have wrapped it up quicker because the rest of the story was such a drag. Sure, Reid may have wanted to share the Jesse's pov when he lost Emma but then again, like I said, I think it should have been done much quicker.

Anyway, it was still an okay read. Besides the fact that it mostly revolved around her love life, there were some sibling rivalry included in the story albeit short.

I just found out that this story will be adapted on screen...I'm very interested to watch and see if the movie will play it out better than the book!
