REVIEW: SOME BY MI SNAIL TRUECICA. MY HONEST THOUGHTS ABOUT IT
This review is long over due for so many reasons and one of them is mainly because this sadly didn't work for me. I was very hesitant to talk about it because I had such high expectations with this product; and writing about it meant making my whole experience with this it very real.
Anyway, if you guys want to know my thoughts about this then keep reading! But before I begin, I just want to put a disclaimer out there that skin care is not a one size fits all kinda thing. So what works for me may or may not work for you and vice versa.
LET'S BEGIN!
I've always struggled with acne scars and it's something that I'm very insecure about. So imagine my excitement when I saw the ad of the Snail Repair Serum from Some By Mi, I was ecstatic and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it! The ad literally made the scars disappear. It also claimed that it could get rid of other old scars besides the ones you get/got from acne.
From the ad, it took 2 bottles or 100ml of product before you'll actually see results. So I did just that.
Before anything else, let's talk about the product. The consistency of the serum is so lightweight it's almost watery. It's not sticky as I imagined and it got absorbed by the skin immediately. It also doesn't have any bothersome fragrance which made me love using it.
It's star ingredient is the black snail slime which claims to calm down the skin sensitivity from external irritation. They also mentioned that the black snail mucin is great for regeneration and damage repair.
My Experience
I didn't expect anything during the first 2-3 weeks of use. I know these things take time. I took before and after pictures of my scars to properly observe the progress of whether it was working or not. As mentioned earlier, the truecica ad used up 100ml of product before seeing the actual results and that's exactly what I did.
Unfortunately, as I emptied out 2 full bottles. I only saw one difference. It somehow tightened my pores. But more than that, I didn't see the effect I was hoping for which was clearer skin.
I bought a third bottle just in case, because the product might be working differently for me. However, as I used the last drop of serum, I still didn't see the results I was expecting.
Final Verdict
The only thing I noticed while using this product is the improvement of my pores. I felt like they were a lot smaller than they used to be. But other than that, nothing really. With my 3 month experience with it, I can honestly and truthfully say that the serum worked just like an aloe vera gel.
I would like to post my before and after pictures but this is something way out of my comfort zone and is a very sensitive topic for me. I hope you guys understand!
Would I repurchase this again? That's a no.
Have you guys tried this serum yet? If so, how's your experience?
