If you’re Filipino and planning to visit South Korea soon, here’s a complete guide on how to apply for a South Korean Visa, plus how to fill up your application form! I’ve included the application form that you can download by clicking the link below.
But first, let’s tackle the documents you need to prepare.

NOTES & REMINDERS

• DO NOT STAPLE YOUR DOCUMENTS. EVEN YOUR BANK STATEMENTS SHOULD NOT BE STAPLED.
• You can fill out the form on your computer BUT BE SURE THAT SIGNATURE IS HAND SIGNED.

*South Korean Visa application and processing is FREE for Filipinos who will apply in the UAE. But if you want to know the fees for other nationalities, you can visit their website HERE.

Basic Documents to Prepare:
1. Korean Visa Application Form. You can fill it up on your computer but make sure that it is hand-signed.
2. Original Passport which has a validity of at least 6 months and has more than 2 blank pages left.
3. Passport copy, bio page in A4 size.
4. UAE Resident Visa copy which should be valid for more than 6 months.
5. 1 Coloured Passport photo with white background, 35 mm x 45 mm pasted on the application form. Must be taken within the past 6 months.
Additional Documents for Employed Applicants:
1. NOC letter from company / employer which states applicant’s full name, nationality, passport number, position, salary, purpose of visit, etc.
2. Bank statements in the last 3 months, stamped on each page. If you are salaried, you must include bank statements that show your earning being deposited regularly. *Make sure bank statements are also NOT STAPLED.
3. Travel itineraries such as your round-trip ticket and hotel reservation.
Additional Documents for Unemployed Applicants:
1. No-objection letter from his/her UAE visa sponsor which states the applicant’s full name, nationality, passport number and the purpose of visit, etc.
2. Travel itineraries such as your round-trip ticket and hotel reservation.
3. In case you are traveling with a family member, provide a letter stating that he or she will finance your whole trip while in Korea.

How To Fill-Up Your Application Form

Here’s the
fun part, filling up your application form. I know how frustrating it feels when you’re about to fill up any visa application form. Even though you’re sure about the information you’re going to provide, you’ll still have that weird feeling of hesitation and you’ll start questioning yourself if you’ve done everything right. So to remove all those troubled thoughts, I’ve listed down a step by step guide on what information to provide for each section.

1. PERSONAL DETAILS
1.1 Full name in English as shown in your passport.
Family name: Include only your last name i.e your family name (no need to include your middle name).
Given Names: Your full first name (If you have two first names, put the, both).
1.2 This is if you have a Chinese name, if you do, please provide it. If not, write N/A
1.3 Sex:
Indicate whether you’re a male or female.
1.4 Your date of birth:
Written in year/month/day
1.5 Nationality:
Indicate your nationality
1.6 Country of birth:
Take note, that they are asking for the COUNTRY and not the city. (Others make a mistake of providing both. Don’t)
1.7 National Identity No.:
Fill in your Emirates I.D number here.
1.8 Have you ever used any other names to enter or depart Korea?
If yes, check yes and provide your name.
If no, write N/A on the space provided.
1.9 Are you a citizen of more than one country?
If yes, check yes and provide the other country.
If no, write N/A on the space provided.

2. DETAILS OF VISA ISSUANCE CONFIRMATION
Section 2 of this application are only for those who possess confirmation of visa issuance issued by the immigration office of the Republic of Korea. If you do possess this, you do not need to fill up sections 3-11. Otherwise, let’s move on to Section 3.
3. PASSPORT INFORMATION
3.1 Passport type:
Check the applicable passport type that you have. Otherwise, if you have the regular passport, then give that a check mark.
3.2 Passport No.:
Fill in your passport number which can be found on your bio page.
3.3 Country of passport:
Prove the country of your passport.
3.4 Place of issue:
Write the same place as it is written in your passport. (Most people get this wrong and sometimes put Philippines even though they have renewed their passports here in Dubai. So write the same place as what is provided in your passport.)
3.5 Date of issue:
Provide the date of issue as written in your passport.
3.6 Date of expiry:
Provide the date of issue as written in your passport.
3.7 Do you have any other valid passport?
If yes, check yes and fill in the other information required as shown in the passport, write N/A on the space provided.
4. CONTACT INFORMATION
4.1 Address in your home country:
You must provide your home country address.
4.1. Current residential address:
Provide your current address here in the UAE.
4.3 Cell phone no.
Provide your current and active cell phone number.
4.4 Telephone no.
Provide your landline number. If in case you don’t have have one, write N/A.
4.5 E-mail:
Provide your current and active e-mail address.
4.6 Emergency Contact Information:
a) Full name in English: Provide the full name of your emergency contact person.
b) Country of residence: Current address for your emergency contact person.
c) Telephone no.: Current and active telephone number / cell phone number of your emergency contact person.
d) Relationship to you: Provide your relation to your emergency contact person. i.e father, mother, friend, uncle. etc.
5. MARITAL STATUS DETAILS
5.1 Current Martial Status:
Check the applicable box to you.
5.2 If married, please provide details of your spouse (as shown in your spouse’s passport)
a) Family name: Write his/her last name
b) Given name (in English): Write his/her first name
c) Date of birth: His/her birthday in year/month/day
d) Nationality: Write the nationality of your spouse
e) Residential Address: Current residential address of your spouse
f) Contact no.: Current and active contact number of your spouse

6. EDUCATION
6.1 What is the highest degree or level of education you have completed?
Check the box applicable to you.
6.2 Name of School:
Provide the full name of your school / college / university.
6.3 Location of school:
Provide the city first, province then country.
7. EMPLOYMENT
7.1 What are your current personal circumstances?
Check the box applicable to you.
**If you are unemployed, don’t worry, check the unemployed box
7.2 Employment details: ** If unemployed, write N/A on section a, b, c and d.
a) Name of company/institute/school: If you’re working, write the name of your company. If you are still studying, provide the name of your school.
b) Your position/course: Write your position in the company. If you are still studying provide your college or university course.
c) Address of company/institute/school: Provide complete address of your workplace or school.
d) Telephone no.: Provide current and active telephone number of your workplace.
8. DETAILS OF SPONSOR
This is only befitting if a Korean, a foreign resident in Korea, a  company or institute is going to sponsor your South Korean Visa. If this is applicable to you, simply fill in the requirements. If not, let’s continue to number 9.
9. DETAILS OF VISIT
9.1 Purpose of Visit to Korea:
Check the box applicable to you. Since you are applying for a tourist visa, check Tourism/Transit.
9.2 Intended period of stay:
Write the number of days you plan to stay in Korea.
9.3 Intended date of entry:
Write down the date of your entry to Korea in year/month/date. Example 2017/June/12
(Make sure that your date of entry is the same as your date of arrival in Korea as per your flight details. This is also a common mistake where some applicants’ date of entry is different from their date of arrival.)

9.4 Address in Korea:
Provide the full address of your accommodation whether the hotel, airbnb, etc.
9.5 Contact number in Korea:
Provide the contact number of your hotel / accommodation.
9.6 Have you traveled to Korea in the last 5 years?
If yes, check the “YES” box and provide the details of your Korea trip.
If no, check “NO” and write N/A in the spaces provided.
9.7 Have you traveled outside your country of residence , excluding Korea in the last 5 years?
If you have, provide all your travel details in the last 5 years. Even if you traveled to 10 countries, list them all out.  If not, write N/A
9.8 Are you traveling to Korea with any family member? *Definition of family members are only your spouse, father, mother, children, brothers and sisters.
Provide the names of your family member(s) you’re traveling with, their birthdays, nationality and their relationship to you. If you’re traveling alone, write N/A.
10. FUNDING DETAILS
10.1 Estimated travel costs in US Dollars
Provide the amount of money you are going to bring in Korea. ** Even if you are unemployed, still fill this up with the amount of your pocket money.
10.2 Who will pay for your travel-related expenses? (Any person including yourself and/or institution)
If you are paying for your own expense, write “myself”. If you are unemployed leave it blank, fill out the next sections.
a) Name of person / company: Write your own name if you are funding yourself. If you are unemployed, write the name of the person who is going to sponsor your trip. i.e your mom, dad or whoever is going with you to Korea.
b) Relationship to you: If you are funding yourself, leave the it blank. If you are unemployed, provide your sponsor’s relation to you.
c) Type of support: If you are funding yourself, leave it blank. If you are unemployed, you can write “Financial Support”.
d) Contact no.: If you are funding yourself, write your own cell phone number. If you are unemployed, write down the cell phone number of the person sponsoring your trip.
11. ASSISTANCE WITH THIS FORM
If you did not receive any help in filling up your application form, you can write N/A on the spaces provided. Otherwise, provide the full name, birthday, contact number and the person’s relationship to you.

12. DECLARATION
This is your last step. Write down the date of when you’re going to submit your application form and sign it.
